You can now customize origin chip (URL address) in Chromium

chrome-os-url-chip

If you have been using Chrome OS Dev, you have probably noticed the URL (origin chip) is no longer in the Omnibar. Google is experimenting a new placement, pushing it all the way to the right, outside the address bar. Some like it and some hate it, but having some control over it will hurt nobody.

This is exactly what Google is testing in the latest Chromium build. Chromium now allows users to select where they what the origin chip to be. You can either push it to the right or left of the Chrome extensions, as well as to the left of the Omnibar. You can see different examples of it below.

These settings can be easily accessed by going to the chrome://flags/#origin-chip flag in the last Chromium build. Expect it to come to other Chrome versions soon!
