PDF files will now open within Chrome

Chrome is a very secure browser, but internet sources can still attack you. This is why the latest update to Chrome Canary makes the Chrome-downloaded PDF files open on the browser by default. This means PDFs that come from Chrome will no longer be accessed via other native applications.

This does not mean the option is not there for those who prefer it, though. Users can still open a PDF file with the system viewer by accessing the drop-down menu in the download.

You can go ahead and start using this feature via Chrome Canary. For those who don’t know, Canary is the beta for Chrome Beta. It is where all new features are uploaded without even being tested yet. You may go ahead and try all the new cool things there, but I wouldn’t advice you use it as a daily driver.
