JetGetters adds Wii U stretch goal to Kickstarter project

Developer TinyBuild has returned to Kickstarter yet again after successfully funding their first game, No Time To Explain. This time they’re working on JetGetters, a game they describe as a mix between the amazing physics of Just Cause 2 and Battlefield 4 for some reason. While the game looks nothing like the previously two mentioned titles, the mechanics of jumping from jet to jet while racing is something new and exciting.

The initial plan for the game is to raise $50k to release on PC, but according to the developer, they’ve added new stretch goals in order to target the consoles due to popular demand. These new stretch goals encompass the entire new generation of consoles, though the tiers at which they unlock is a bit strange. Here’s what tinyBuild had to say in the latest update:

Due to strong demand, we have decided to add stretch-goals around console versions of JetGetters. We already are a licensed developer for all platforms, and already have an Xbox One dev kit. The Xbox One port would look easiest right now due to the devkit, then would come the PS4 version, and then the Wii U in terms of complexity.

Given that information, the following stretch goals have been set for the game:

  • Stretch Goal $75k = Xbox One version
  • Stretch Goal $85k = PS4 version
  • Stretch Goal $95k = Wii U

That’s a lofty goal that puts the Wii U version at nearly double what the original asking price was, but it’s sort of understandable considering the Wii U is the only current generation console that still uses the PowerPC architecture.
