I have needlessly pulled my phone out of my pocket way too often. Truth is more than half of my notifications make me want to get those few seconds of precious time back. If you want a way to conveniently get a glimpse of what your Android notification is about, you have come to the right place!
If you are a Chrome user, the Android Desktop Notifications extension is what you need. It brings your Android notifications to your computer screen, giving you a preview of what to expect. Is it a spammy email or an email regarding a job offer? You will be able to find out.
How to get Android notifications on your computer
- Download the Desktop Notifications app from the Google Play Store.
- Download the Android Desktop Notifications extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Get the code from the Android app and input it in your computer (click on the extension button in your Chrome browser).
- Select the Apply button and enjoy!
The only downside I can find is that one can only see a notification with a preview of the content waiting for you in your smartphone. It would be nice to be able to click the notification box and be sent to the site of relevance (for example, be sent to the Gmail website when you get an email).
