Google has just updated Chrome’s stable channel to version 26.0.1410.43. The update comes with the usual bug fixes and stability upgrades, but what may be more interesting to us (the end consumer) is the improvement in Chrome’s spellcheck.
To start off, the spellcheck settings and dictionary can now sync across devices. This is a very welcomed addition, but there are better improvements in the system people might appreciate more.
“The ‘Ask Google for suggestions’ spell checking feature, powered by the same technologies used by Google search, now supports grammar checking, proper nouns, homonyms, and context-sensitive spell checking in English.”
Half of these terms don’t mean anything to most of us. Google knows that, so they have given us a couple examples of how Chrome’s spellcheck will be better:
Chrome’s spellcheck is an interesting service. Some people hate it while others have never had an issue with it. My experience is closer to the latter option, but we would like to know how Chrome’s spellcheck has treated you. Do you love it or hate it?
