Chrome OS Dev update brings pinch-to-zoom

Any touchscreen device should have pinch-to-zoom in its browser. There is no excuse to not offering this feature in an age where touchscreen technology is so prevalent. Windows 8 got the treat recently, but Chrome OS has been lacking this feature. This is changing with the latest update to Chrome OS Dev!

As you can see in François Beaufort’s demonstration, the feature is simple and works like a charm. Those that have Chrome OS Dev activated should have received the update already. If you have a touchscreen Chromebook, you will probably be very happy to be able to use pinch-to-zoom on your Chromebook.

Touch functions are the future of Chrome OS. More Chromebooks are starting to come with touchscreens now. Aside from the Chromebook Pixel, you can now also buy the Acer C720P, and soon you will be able to purchase the Lenovo TinkPad Yoga 11e.

Google needs to hurry up and bring more touchscreen optimizations to their operating system! Go ahead and give pinch-to-zoom a test and let us know what you think in the comments below!
