Zelda: Breath of the Wild framerate better on Switch after patch

One of the interesting anomalies surrounding the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is that the framerate performance was actually worse on the Nintendo Switch in some areas. The most recent 1.1.1 patch has addressed a lot of these issues as we originally highlighted, but what’s interesting about Digital Foundry’s analysis is that the Wii U doesn’t seem to have benefitted much.

Granted, the Wii U was originally more stable than the Switch in terms of framerate, so it’s not like there was much to be improved on the original console. For Switch owners, this patch has been a godsend and several of the areas where the framerate would drop by at least five to ten frames have been noticeably improved.
