Zelda Breath of the Wild speed record shattered, completed in 45 min

We were amazed when someone managed to beat Zelda: Breath of the Wild in under an hour. That was sooo last week. Now someone has beaten the game in an impressive 45 minutes. That’s right, the new Breath of the Wild speed record is just 45 minutes.

This is mainly thanks to one newly discovered trick: using German language. That’s because using German language gets players out of the opening sequence much faster, since the German voice acting is faster in general compared to other languages.

Using a different language has been popular among speedrunners in past Zelda games. For example, in the previous Zelda game, Skyward Sword, Japanese was the fastest language and cut down the completion time by 17 minutes.

Speedrunners are also using newly discovered tricks in the game, such as the infinite horse stamina trick.

Beating the game quickly is one thing, but completing it 100% is a whole other endeavor. We’re still waiting for the official 100% completion record…
