Zelda: Breath of the Wild sells 1.3 million units, Switch attach-rate is 1:1

With the announcement that Nintendo Switch has sold 906,000 units during its first month, it was also revealed that Zelda: Breath of the Wild has sold 1.3 million copies.

That’s 925,000 on the Switch and 460,000 on the Wii U. You might have noticed that the game has sold more copies on the Switch than consoles have been sold. That’s likely because gamers were buying up the Collector’s and Limited Editions as future collector’s items.

This might be the first time in history that the game to console attach rate is more than 1:1, where more copies of a game were sold than the console itself.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the fastest selling Zelda game of all time, and the fastest selling Nintendo launch game of all time. Which isn’t a surprise: it’s one of the best-reviewed games in history and a must-have for all Switch owners.
