Zelda: Breath of the Wild hard mode has its own save slot

Nintendo showcased the first Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC at E3 last week, and besides the new content, a new feature will be added to the game.

Called “Master Mode”, aka the hard mode, it will offer a bigger challenge to gamers. And that game mode has its own save slot — that’s how challenging Nintendo thinks it’s going to be.

Which is good news, because Breath of the Wild, for some strange reason, only lets you have one active campaign going (unlike previous Zelda games).

The Master Mode will launch with the first Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, titled “Master Trials” on June 30. The DLC will also include a 45-room Trial of the Sword activity to permanently power up the Master Sword, and a bunch of other, smaller content.

The big DLC, called The Champions’ Ballad, will be released this Fall and will include a lot more content. You can check out a trailer of the Breath of the Wild DLC below.
