Well, you did it folks. Yesterday in the post that went live announcing the Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter, I told you that the game was already funded for the initial amount, but that Playtonic Games really wants to do a simultaneous platform release for the game. That required a £1 million stretch goal. The Kickstarter currently has 45 days left to gather funding and within just 24 hours, backs surpassed the £1 million stretch goal.
I think the team at Playtonic Games realizes that Nintendo fans have been the huge backing behind such support. They acknowledged this in their tweet announcing the surpassing of the goal by including Wii U first among the list of consoles.

So what happens from here, especially now that 45 days are left to gather funding for the title? Could this become one of the biggest backed video gaming Kickstarters of all time? It really seems that way and given the talent at Playtonic Games, it’s well deserved. The buddy duo platformer is alive and well in their hands.
