Yooka-Laylee is slated to release on several platforms (that aren’t Nintendo Switch) on April 11th, so we’re starting to see more footage from the game. GameXplain has uploaded a new video that shows a few easter eggs that fans of Nintendo will be able to appreciate, especially those who loved Rare games on the N64.
Hidden in the hub world’s archive is a massive library with some clever titles that reference pop culture and gaming in unique ways. Among books like “50 Shaders of Gamers” and “It’s My Way or the Flyway” is hidden a book called “Jet Packs and Butlers: Your First Investment.” So where does that title come from?
Conker’s Bad Fur Day, of course! The M-rated game sees the titular squirrel asking for the very same thing when he acquires a fat stack of cash in the original game. It’s nice to see the developers at Playtonic Games have kept their sense of humor, even if we Nintendo fans will have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on Yooka-Laylee.
