Japan is usually first in line when it comes to unusual game concepts, but it looks like that isn’t the case with The Wonderful 101. According to some reports, the game will have just 30,000 copies to sale in Japan for its launch week. This is surprisingly low considering Pikmin 3 sold 93,000 copies in just two days, which was around half the allotted stock for Japan.

The answer is most likely that The Wonderful 101 was built and designed to appeal to Western gamers moreso than the Japanese market. The game is currently launching on August 23rd in Europe and August 24th in Japan, with players in North America having to wait nearly a month later for September 15th.
