Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap goes gold

Good news, 2D platforming fans: Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is now gold on all consoles, Switch included! Developer Lizardcube tweeted the news earlier this morning.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is actually a remake of 1989’s Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap for the Sega Master System. The remake includes brand-new, hand-drawn graphics and musical arrangements. You’ll explore numerous islands, earn items, and get money to purchase more items. So, yep, it’s a platformer!

The thing that has us interested are the animal forms and their abilities. One example is Lion-Man who gets a nifty sword. Of course there are more forms like Hawk-Man, Piranha-Man and others. You can see some gameplay int he trailer above.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be available on April 18th from the Nintendo Switch eShop.
