Wii U’s Tank Tank Tank is free to play in Europe

The Wii U just got its first free-to-play game: Tank Tank Tank. Publisher Namco Bandai recently released the title as a free to play game in Japan, and now they’ve done the same in Europe. Apparently, sales of the action game weren’t all that great, which made the publishers try a new approach.

From now on, the game is free to download on the European Wii U eShop, where players can play up to 3 times per day. The game is now split into three parts, with each part with one of the game modes. You can play each part for free for up to 3 times a day, or you can purchase each part for 2 Euros. However, the price will rise to 10 Euros on February 28, so if you’re interested in the game, now is the time to act. If you’re in Europe, of course.

Tank Tank Tank was one of the Wii U launch titles and didn’t do well among reviewers. Sales have been somewhat disappointing as well, which explains why Namco is trying this new approach. We suspect it’s only a matter of time before North American Wii U owners get the same treatment.
