When Steamworld Dig released last year on the Nintendo 3DS, it became an instant hit. The team at Image & Form have since released the game on Steam and today, the team announced that the game would be released on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita as well. Of course, this announcement prompted several fans to ask the team why no Wii U version was being considered. After a quick explanation that it would take a lot of work, one fan decided to ask what this work involved:

It’s understandable that the team is focusing on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita launch for the game right now since that deal took time to secure with Sony, but the maybe later aspect does leave hope that the HD version of the game will eventually find its way to Nintendo’s home console as well. If you haven’t played Steamworld Dig yet, you can pick it up in the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It’s definitely worth the price.
