We know Splatoon has been good for Nintendo as during their last quarterly financial report, Splatoon was announced to have moved 1.6 million units since launch. Now after July’s NPD figures have been released, Nintendo has revealed that sales for Wii U software are up 10% year-over-year when compared to the same period in 2014. According to the press release, more than 85k units were sold in July, showing that Splatoon still has strong sales three months after launch.

Nintendo also reported that Nintendo 3DS hardware sales have increased by 35% when compared to the same period in 2014. With software sales up for Wii U and hardware sales up thanks to the Nintendo 3DS refresh, it’s possible that Nintendo could finish the year on a strong note, especially if Super Mario Maker and Yoshi’s Woolly World find a good audience when they debut later this year.
