Nintendo has gone a long way in making the Wii U feel very much like a mobile device, even if it’s not. It’s got its own social network and tablet peripheral and if rumors reported by Japan Times are correct, then Nintendo could be looking to entice mobile developers to its doorstep. According to the paper, Nintendo is offering high-level conversion software to app developers in the effort to get them to port or produce smartphone games that can be played on the Wii U.
This is likely one solution to the small game library available to Wii U owners. Nintendo hopes that hundreds of thousands of bite-sized games can tide its owners over until full releases like the new rumored 3D Mario game and the new Legend of Zelda game are ready to be played.
