Yesterday NPD sales were released to industry pundits and while much ado was made about the performance of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One last month, not much was said about Nintendo. According to a “reliable industry source”, the Wii U has sold 230k units in the United States in November, which is a vast improvement over previous months.

From April through September, the Wii U only sold 460k units world-wide, making the leap in November pretty substantial. Still, Nintendo is a long way from their goal of 9 million consoles by March of next year, as they’ll still need to sell about 8 million more systems. We expect Nintendo to be lowering its financial forecast yet again in face of those numbers.
