Wii U pre-orders are “exceeding expectations” at Game UK

Wii U is pretty much sold out across the US, sans for the few retailers who are offering the console in special bundles. Across the pond over in Europe, the console hasn’t sold out yet, but pre-orders are nevertheless impressive.

According to UK video game retailer GAME, Wii U pre-orders are “exceeding expectations”, as they told NintendoLife:

“Pre-orders are exceeding expectations with the black console proving the most popular so far”

GameStop was the first to report having sold out of the Deluxe model just days after it was put up for pre-order. In Europe, there are even two types of Wii U Deluxe: one with Nintendo Land, and one with ZombiU as the bundled game.

Earlier this month GameStop reported that Wii U demand was “off the charts“. The console has sold out at GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Kmart, and many other places. With all those pre-orders, some have wondered if there will be enough consoles on launch day for those who do not pre-order. Nintendo has assured everyone that the “Wii U supply chain is solid“. The Wii U launches on November 18 in North America, and November 30 in Europe. Gamers in Japan will have to wait until December 10.
