Wii U launches in Europe

The Wii U has officially launched in Europe, and we got some videos from the UK launch for you (via Official Nintendo Magazine). As the videos show, there were plenty of people waiting in line for a Wii U console in London. And it was a good idea to get in line, as there have been reports of severely limited consoles in the UK — just 25,000 units are expected to be available on launch day, and around 100,000 will be supplied by Christmas. As for other countries in Europe, it’s unknown how many Wii U consoles will be available, or how the launch went, as Nintendo seems to focus on the UK for PR purposes.

About a week from now, Japan will be the final territory that gets the Wii U, on December 7, 2012. The Wii U starts at $299 in North America, €299 in Europe, and $350 in Japan.
