Nintendo has officially launched the Wii U GamePad high-capacity battery in the US via the official Nintendo store.
The high-capacity battery for the GamePad controller launched in Japan this Summer, and in Europe back in October, and it’s now finally available in the US.
The new battery, weighing in at 2,550 mAh (9.2 Wh), gives gamers up to 8 hours on the Wii U GamePad. Which is quite an increase from the regular battery’s 3 to 5 hours of play time.
The new battery retails for $32, and is available now on Nintendo’s online store.
Expect the new battery pack to be available in regular retail stores soon. We’re sure that knock-off and third party high-capacity batteries will be available as well over the next few months, depending on how fast the Chinese are to copy it.
