Nintendo reveals Wii U branded Wiimotes, plus Pro controller box

When Nintendo’s new console launches in two months, the company will also release Wii U branded Wiimote controllers. The new console is fully backwards compatible with the older Wiimote and Nun-chuck controllers. But to appeal to new Wii U buyers who haven’t tried the original console, Nintendo has re-branded the Wiimote boxes to show it as a Wii U accessory.

Nintendo will also start selling sensor bars and Nun-chuck accessories in Wii U branded boxes (although we don’t have the official box design for those yet).

You can check out how the new box design looks below. We have to say, they’re looking pretty sweet — the design is simple and very “Apple-like”. Nintendo also revealed the box design for the Wii U Pro controller, a traditional, wireless dual analog controller which will retail for $50.

The Pro Controller and the new Wiimote and other re-branded accessories will be available at launch on November 18 in the US, November 30 in Europe, and December 8 in Japan.
