Online retail giant Amazon might have just leaked the Wii U box art design. The box art, shown below, differs substantially from the current Wii design, and is also different from the Darksiders 2 box art which was leaked on the German Amazon site a few months ago. So far three games have leaked with the new box design, all three are from Ubisoft. Neither Amazon, Nintendo, nor Ubisoft have commented on the new box art leak.
The new design is very similar to the old GameCube box art. The Wii U version shows a blue curved top with a yellow outline, and is generally very “clean” in its design. If this turns out to be the official design, it will be good for Nintendo to differentiating the new Wii U box art from the old Wii ones, making a clean break for a new console. Nintendo will likely unveil the new cover designs next month with the reveal of the console price and launch date. Wii U games will likely end up costing $60 as well.
