A couple weeks ago, we showed you a leaked internal memo that showed off Nintendo’s upcoming release schedule for numerous Wii U and 3DS games. Many of you called the document a fake, since the top was labelled “Super Secret”, but it turns out that document might be more spot on than you think. According to CVG, Nintendo’s 2013 release strategy includes a new 3D Mario game for Wii U being available by October.
Discussions with retail chains at the executive level are designed to help retailers retain faith in Nintendo’s console, as we’ve recently reported that many retailers are slashing prices in order to get rid of unsold stock. Global sales for the Wii U are 2 million short of the original forecast, which has led to a bit of panic among retailers who ordered tons of units, expecting the Wii U to suffer the same shortage that the Wii did during its launch.
