Fans of super hard platformers take note, Volgarr the Viking is on the way to Wii U, 3DS, PS4, and Vita! The hard as nails platformer originally released on PC back in 2013, but last year the team at Crazy Viking Studios worked on getting the game on the Xbox One. Now other systems will follow. You can see one of the developers tweeted an early version of the game running on a Nintendo 3DS below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Volgarr the Viking, it’s a tough-as-nails platformer similar to Capcom’s long-standing Ghouls n’ Ghosts series. Every enemy you meet has the possibility of killing you and the bosses you’ll encounter all require special skills on the sticks in order to beat. I’m hugely excited to see this one coming to Wii U and 3DS since it reminds me of the hardcore platformers I loved in the early days of the SNES. What do you think? Will you be picking up Volgarr the Viking when it’s released?
