Ubisoft says Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a good fit for Wii U

Splinter Cell: Black List will be available next month for Wii U owners, which creative director Maxime Beland appears to be giving the most attention. Beland has stated that the Wii U version of the game is a “great fit” for Nintendo’s latest console, as Sam Fisher’s OPSAT device resembles the Wii U GamePad.

What’s fun and interesting is that Sam Fisher has an OPSAT in the game that he uses in the same way players can use the Wii U gamepad when playing Splinter Cell Blacklist. Sam uses his OPSAT to control gadgets like the triorotor, which the player can also do using the gamepad. I’m proud of the fact that our Wii U implementation makes sense in the Splinter Cell universe, it feels like a really natural platform for Splinter Cell Blacklist.”

It’s nice to see developers taking special care to incorporate the Wii U GamePad in new ways. What do you think of the game? Will you be picking it up since Ubisoft seems to be supporting the Wii U version of the game beyond just being a port of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases? Let us know in the comments!
