Thomas Was Alone could be headed to Wii U soon

Another great indie title could soon find its way into the Nintendo eShop. Thomas Was Alone, one of the most unique and interesting games to have debuted in recent years, has been rated by a German ratings board for a Wii U release. While we obviously can’t take this as hard confirmation that the game is headed to Wii U (that would require a formal announcement on the part of Nintendo or the developers), it certainly does reveal that something is in the works.

Thomas Was Alone is an award winning platformer that puts you in control of several shapes as you find your way around, over and through obstacles to reach the end of each level. The story is of an artificial intelligence firm which, one day, found themselves with sentient beings — the artificially intelligent blocks become, well, truly intelligent. Thomas is one such block, and you’ll follow him as he looks to find out his purpose in the world.

The game has already launched for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PS Vita and mobile, so feel free to give it a go on any of those platforms if you’re interested. If you don’t have those, well, it looks like it won’t take long for Wii U owners to get in on the fun. Be sure to check out some Thomas Was alone gameplay above to get an idea of what to expect once it finally makes its arrival.
