Nintendo has changed quite a few Mario gameplay mechanics for Super Mario Odyssey. For example, there is no game over screen anymore nor does it use the lives system.
Instead, players simply lose some of their coins and start from the most recent checkpoint.
But what happens when you’ve lost all your coins? A new video shows exactly what.
And… Nothing much happens. You still get back to the same spot if you had any coins to lose.
But since players can earn a lot of coins in the game, it’s highly unlikely that most players will ever run out.
