Nintendo will offer the standard Wii U Pro controller for $50, but third party accessory makers have already begun manufacturing their own versions. And don’t expect those to be just simple, plain Pro controllers — they’ll usually be available in a variety of colors, layouts, etc.
One of such Wii U Pro controllers was spotted at EB Games in Australia, which resembles the classic NES controller. It’s button layout is a bit different than the standard Pro controller, naturally. Both analog sticks are at the top of each side in order to make for the “SNES controller” at the bottom.
EB Games lists the controller at just under $50, which is close to the retail price of the regular, Nintendo-made Wii U Pro controller. There’s no word on who the manufacturer behind the SNES themed controller is, but the device will be available on launch day.
As we get closer to Wii U launch, more and more third party accessory makers will reveal their Wii U accessories. Some already have, like Atomic, which recently revealed a whole line of accessories for the new console.
