Fans of The Wonderful 101 have something new to look forward to this year, as game developer Hideki Kamiya has announced on Platinum Games’ blog that the soundtrack for The Wonderful 101 will be released digitally on iTunes on September 15. It’s been a full year since The Wonderful 101 was released in Japan and Kamiya wanted to reward fans with something they’ve been asking for since the game released.

The soundtrack contains 127 songs and if it were put onto CDs, it would fill five of them. Instead, Platinum is releasing the soundtrack in two volumes, both retailing for $9.99 a piece. Don’t worry though, if you only liked a few of the songs from the game and don’t want them all, you can still buy individual songs for $0.99

Kamiya also mentions that the soundtrack has better sound quality from the game and that the theme for the game, “The Won-Stoppable Wonderful 100” has been remastered. Because the game version was intended to loop endlessly, the team got the lead composer for the game to give the song a conclusion that can only be heard on the soundtrack version that’s being offered on iTunes shortly.

Did you enjoy the music of the game? Will you be picking this up when it releases?
