Tesla CEO says Model S dashboard will get Chrome browser

When it comes to electric vehicles, nothing beats Tesla Motors. Tesla cars represent the highest in luxury and technology, so the dashboard should be up to standards. The dashboard houses a whopping 17-inch display that controls much of the car’s technology. The device is very close to being a full computer. So much that it will actually feature the Chrome browser very soon.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk speaks about this at a press conference in Germany. More specifically, he is asked how Tesla will support third-party apps for the dashboard device. Elon states that they plan to add an Android emulator after working out localization and adding the Chrome browser to the system.

Chrome is the most popular browser in the world and has become everyone’s go-to option for surfing the web. We expect it to be very present in emerging technologies like Tesla. Chrome now syncs across devices, so I can imagine using the “Recently Closed” feature a lot, from my car.

Tesla cars still cost a pretty penny, though. I don’t think I will get to enjoy that beautiful 17-inch screen for a long time.
