Tecmo Koei presented Hyrule Warriors to Miyamoto first

Over the past few days, tons of information about the upcoming Hyrule Warriors game has been released in Japan. Siliconera spoke with members of Tecmo Koei about the project and discovered that it wasn’t Nintendo who approached them, but rather they presented the idea to Shigeru Miyamoto, who then passed the idea on to Eiji Aonuma, asking him if he wanted to produce the game. Aonuma responded favorably to producing the project, which is why we have the collaboration we’ll see more of at E3.

So, it sparked my interest when I thought: ‘I wonder what a collaboration with The Legend of Zelda would be like.’ Shortly afterwards, Miyamoto told me, ‘The folks at Tecmo Koei are talking about a Zelda Musou. Are you interested?’ and I responded with ‘definitely!’

Perhaps the biggest revelation to come from all the Hyrule Warriors news in released in Japan is that the game will have a two player co-op mode, featuring one player using the TV to play, while the other uses the GamePad. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed this information, but given that the company spoke about showcasing projects that make specific use of the GamePad, this one sounds legit.

Will you be picking up Hyrule Warriors when it’s finally available?
