Target selling Wii U basic for $240

Currently Target is offering a deal on the Wii U basic set, dropping it down to just $240. That’s a $60 price reduction, which means if you walk in and buy a game with it, you’re getting a game and a system for less than $300. Retailers seem fond of embracing an unofficial price cut despite Nintendo’s objection to one, as price cuts all over the UK have been steadily dropping the price of both the basic and the deluxe sets. This could be the start of the same price war here in the US.

This comes after a rumor that the Wii U sold only 38,000 units in the month of April. What do you think? Is a price cut needed for higher adoption?
