As you’ve probably read here over the past few weeks, the Nintendo Switch has been absolutely dominating the Japanese console market. Week in and week out, the console is the top selling hardware in Japan, and last week it sold more units than all other consoles combined.
Now Switch sales in japan have surpassed 2.5 million units. Which is an impressive feat when you compare it to the king of the current generation consoles, the PS4.
The PS4 has sold 5.5 million units in Japan, but it’s been on the market there for almost three four years (it launched in February 2014 in Japan).
The Switch reached almost half of PS4’s sales in just 9 months.
