The Nintendo Switch has reached a new milestone in Japan: the console has surpassed 4 million units sold. It achieved that in just over a year, making it one of the fastest selling consoles ever in the country.
But it’s still behind the Wii in Japan — the Wii sold 4 million units in 54 weeks, while the Switch needed 56 weeks.
The Switch has sold over 15 million units to date, and Nintendo expects to sell another 20 million in fiscal year 2019 (April 2018 to March 2019).
The console has broken all sorts of sales records throughout the world, most recently becoming the fastest selling console in France ever.
