Super Smash Bros. sold out in Japan due to shortages

Super Smash Bros. launched two weeks ago in Japan and already the current stock is sold out. 1.37 million copies have been sold so far in its short launch window, with many unable to purchase the game because their local stores don’t have enough stock to sell.

The game launched in both the United States and Europe today, with fans finally able to get their hands on the game after being teased by the demo version since September 19. It will be interesting to see how stock holds up in both Europe and North America, given the amount of demand for the title we’ve seen in Japan.
