Up until now Splatoon footage has been pretty tightly controlled, we’ve seen inklings battling it out, but most of them were using the standard squirt guns and not any of the crazy weapons we know the game has. Well, that changes today as we get an in-depth look at how the paint roller works. It covers a massive area and seems capable of flinging huge globs of paint a pretty decent distance across the map. If you’re about area control for your team, you’ll probably want to wield one of these.
Comparing it to a modern shooter with real guns, it looks like the paint roller functions similarly to the heavier weapons, capable of covering quite a bit of area but lacking in mobility because of how large it is. Let’s see some more previews of individual weapons, Nintendo!
