With the Splatoon Direct presentation now over, one of the biggest surprises is that Nintendo is making a demo for the game available right now! If what you saw in the presentation looks fun and you’d like to check it out, you can head to the Wii U eShop to download the demo right now. If you missed the presentation, you can check it out here. It’s about 30 minutes long and contains tons of new info, including our first look at the weapons system from the game.
Nintendo is prepping special times for the Global Testfire event, most likely to test servers and be sure the game is ready for launch. Times for these events are as follows:
- May 8th 8PM-9PM (PT) / 4AM-5AM (BST – 9th May)
- May 9th 4AM-5AM (PT) / 12PM-1PM (BST)
- May 9th Noon-1PM (PT) / 8PM-9PM (BST)
During the event this weekend, Nintendo has stated that members from their “Squid Research Labs” will be present and will be identifiable by their white lab coats. If you want to splat members of the team, tune in at the above times in order to help Nintendo stress test its servers.
