Take this with a huge grain of salt as its a retailer pre-order and we’ve known retailers to be wrong in the past. We’ve not seen any announcements from Nintendo regarding amiibo for Splatoon characters and given the amount of customization available in the game, perhaps it’s not something they’ll do. Either way, it would be weird for Splatoon to release without any amiibo support, given the amount of time Nintendo has put into making sure all of their current games have some form of support.
While this may not turn out to be true, a South African retailer has put up a pre-order page for several new amiibo, including Greninja, Jigglypuff.. and a boy and girl avatar from Splatoon. There are no pictures of any of these, so whether or not this is true is highly subjective, still this could be a great way for Nintendo to gauge whether consumers would be interested in purchasing amiibo for a newly established franchise.
