Splatoon 2 Switch attach rate is greater than Mario Kart 8 and Zelda

Splatoon 2 has an impressive launch in Japan, selling over 670,000 units in just three days, making it the best selling Switch game in the country. It even surpassed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which was a huge hit in its own regard when it launched.

But Splatoon 2 is on a whole new level, as recent sales data from Japan reveals. The attach-rate for Splatoon 2 is 54 percent, way more than Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s 36 percent, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s 45 percent.

Not only did Splatoon 2 sell lots of copies, as we reported last week, it also doubled Switch console sales to almost 100,000 units that week.

All things considered so far, Splatoon 2 looks like the biggest Switch game ever.

And that’s just in Japan. It’ll be interesting to see how well that game does in the rest of the world.
