Nintendo is eager to get people interested in playing Splatoon 2, so it’s slowly been trickle-feeding information about the upcoming Switch game via its Tumblr blog. Over the weekend the blog revealed a new track called Humpback Pump Track, which appears to be a BMX-themed arena for splatting your opponents.
Alongside that reveal came some new information about the gear that will appear in the game, along with a new ability that we haven’t seen previously before.
Lots of old abilities are returning alongside the new abilities and Nintendo uploaded a teaser image of this on the Splatoon 2 blog. Hidden in that image that has new abilities listed as a question mark is a hint at a new ability that we haven’t seen before. The image appears to show a squid form covered in ink.
So what could this be? Well, this is pure speculation but the people who discovered the little easter egg on Twitter think that it could increase your resistance to enemy ink, making you a bit faster when you’re inside the opposite color. It’s all unconfirmed at this point, but it’s interesting to see Nintendo throw out these little teasers to see if the community catches them.
