Sony’s game engine now supports the Nintendo Switch

Sony’s PhyreEngine, which has been a free-to-use game engine for more than a decade, now officially supports the Nintendo Switch. That’s right, game developers can use Sony’s software to make games for the Switch.

And they are: the upcoming Dragon Quest Builders runs on that very engine and will be released on the Switch.

This is great news for developers as it gives them another tool they can use to make games. Or if they already made games for other platforms with the PhyreEngine, it’s now easier to port those games to the Nintendo Switch.

The engine is used in games such as Flow, Journey, and many other titles.
