Sony Working on a VAIO Chromebook, Possibly ARM Powered

New Chromebooks are few and far between, so when a Sony VAIO laptop with Chrome OS passed through the FCC our eyes lit up. This new Chromebook from Sony has a 11.6″ display, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB ports, HDMI, and an SD card slot. Unfortuneately that’s about all we know from the FCC filing. There is some debate about what processor the Chromebook will use. The doc lists the processor as “T25,” which could refer to NVIDIA Tegra 250 T25, an SoC with a dual-core 1.2GHz Arm Cortex A9, or even an ARM-based processor. Chromebooks haven’t exactly been flying off the shelves, but hopefully this one can be better.
