Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed nearing 1 million sales

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was a surprise for many Wii U gamers who picked it up for the launch of the new console. It continues to be one of the most recommended titles here on Wii U Daily when someone says, “Hey what games should I get for my new Wii U?” The game’s track design and action-packed racing surprised many and it’s been an affordable release both for retail and on the eShop.

SEGA Sammy has stated that the game sold 930,000 copies since December 31st, which is less than two months since the game has been released. Considering the failure of Disney’s Epic Mickey 2, these numbers are quite astounding. The Wii U version specifically contributed 260,000 sales to that number, which is good when you consider just how long the Wii U has been available versus other platforms.

If you’ve been on the fence about this one then let this be your wake up call, SEGA finally has a great Sonic racing game on their hands. Have you picked it up? Let us know how you like it in the comments.
