While Sega has yet to officially announce a release date for Sonic Mania, the game’s page on Steam might have accidentally leaked the release date. The Steam page listed an August 15 release date for Sonic Mania.
And it looks like Sega spotted the release date and yanked it from the Steam page. The release date now shows “Summer 2017”.
Sonic Mania is a side-scrolling patformer like the original series was, complete with retro visuals and audio. It’s a highly anticipated game by fans, and was originally meant to be released this Spring.
Sega delayed the game for a few months to focus on quality. So far previews of the game have been excellent. The game will be released on the Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
