New Sonic Lost World gameplay features emerge

Just yesterday SEGA unveiled the Sonic Lost Worlds trailer, showing off the blue Hedgehog running around in what seems to be a world similar in mechanics to something we saw in Super Mario Galaxy. Along with this trailer, IGN got a better look at the game and some of the features you can expect once its released. So far, here’s what we know:

  • Two levels are called ‘Wind Hill’ & ‘Desert Ruins’
  • Desert Ruins features candy and cake dessert environments
  • Sonic builds speed slowly
  • Brand new parkour system
  • Wisps are in the game
  • 2 player support mode has been confirmed
  • Sonic is the only playable character
  • Tails, Knuckles & Amy appear
  • Planet is called Lost Hex
  • Rescuing animals influences unlocked content
  • Red Rings are back
  • Gold Cannons mark unlockables and secrets

We’ll likely see much more at E3, so we’re going to keep our eye on it. For now, what do you think of the game? Many of you said you hoped there were more playable characters from the Sonic universe in this game, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Overall I’m optimistic about the game without having played it, as it looks like it’ll be challenging without trying to be ‘edgy’ like previous Sonic games.
