Someone is recreating Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 2D

Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best games of all time, and the first truly open world Zelda game. But it actually started as a 2D game at Nintendo, who made a 2D prototype to test ideas and gameplay features.

Now someone is trying to recreate the whole game in 2D, with a top-down perspective just like the classic Zelda games. The Breath of the Wild 2D remake is officially called Breath of the NES, and can be downloaded here.

The fan-made 2D game looks like the classic Zelda title on NES, but offers a lot more interactive world. For example, players can chop down trees for resources, etc.
