Super Smash Bros. on 3DS will feature Smash Run mode - The Daily Net

Super Smash Bros. on 3DS will feature Smash Run mode

3ds-smash-bros

Today during the Nintendo Direct dedicated to Super Smash Bros., series producer Masahiro Sakurai announced that the Nintendo 3DS version of the game will feature a mode called Smash Run, instead of the classic Adventure mode. Smash Run still features a four player battle against one another, but the setup before the battle lasts 5 minutes and features a dungeon crawling style brawl, where various power ups can drop in order to enhance the fighter.

The fighter must race through the dungeon conquering as many foes as possible in the dungeon before the five minute timer runs out, collecting power ups that improve defense, speed, special attack, attack, and jump power. These enemies are AI controlled and each player has their own dungeon, so there’s no competing for resources.

There’s no mention of the number of stages that will be available for Smash Run, but we did get a quick look at what looks to be a giant airship style stage. Smash Run is currently exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, which will be released this summer.
