Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will run at 60 FPS, no mention of Wii U version

FPS smash bros 3DS

In today’s Smash Brothers Nintendo Direct, game director Masahiro Sakurai took time out the presentation to talk tech with the fans. He talked about the game’s frame rate, which is how fast the images are updated on the screen. For frames per second, 60 is the ideal number.

Sakurai has confirmed that the characters in the game will be running at a blazing 60 FPS. This came as quite a surprise, seeing how other 3DS games such as Pokémon X and Pokémon Y had some very blatant frame rate issues. Sakurai also went on to say that other elements such as assist trophies and Pokémon summoned from Pokéballs will run at 30 frames per second. This was done so the main action with the characters wouldn’t be affected.

There was absolutely no mention of the game’s frame rate on the Wii U.
